Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

OQi collects the following information in order to provide its Saju analysis service.

• Date of birth — to derive the eight Saju characters (solar or lunar calendar)
• Time of birth — to derive the hour pillar (optional; a simplified mode is used if not provided)
• Gender — to calculate the direction of luck cycles (applying the yang-male / yin-female principle)
• Calendar type — solar/lunar, and (for lunar dates) whether it is a leap month
• Anonymous identifier — a random value stored in your browser (not personal information such as a name or contact), used for return-visit analysis. It is removed when you clear your browser data.
• Account information — Collected only when you sign in or register (email and the basic profile provided by your social login provider). Basic analysis and daily reading history created while signed in is stored with your account. Daily reading history includes the date, day pillar, language and result reference key. Account information is not collected when you use the service without signing in.
• Usage events and acquisition source — We store visits, analysis starts and completions, and channel, campaign and post tags from promotional links together with session and anonymous identifiers. Events may be linked to your account when signed in. Attribution does not store full URLs, search terms or referring page addresses.

Information we do not collect: phone numbers, precise location or payment information. IP addresses are temporarily processed in server memory to prevent abuse and are not stored in the analysis database. Hosting logs and authentication-email tracking described in Section 5 may process IP addresses separately. Email is used for sign-up, sign-in and account recovery.

2. Purpose of Collection

• Providing Saju analysis results (required)
• Verifying the accuracy of analysis results — checking consistency between your input and the derived results
• Improving service quality — monitoring cache hit rate, response time, and error rate
• Anonymous statistical analysis — distribution of day stems, useful gods, etc. (cannot identify individuals)
• Return-visit analysis — counting reuse based on the anonymous identifier (cannot identify individuals)
• Account authentication, keeping you logged in, and saving and viewing basic analysis and daily reading history (for signed-in users only)
• Channel performance — linking visits from promotional links to completed analyses for aggregate measurement.

3. Principles of Personal Data Handling

Date and time of birth are general personal information that does not constitute sensitive information (such as ideology, beliefs, health, or sexual life) under Korea's Personal Information Protection Act. Nevertheless, OQi handles this information carefully and observes the following principles.

• We obtain the user's explicit consent at the start of analysis.
• Data is encrypted with HTTPS in transit, and stored using Supabase Postgres standard security.
• We do not sell personal information or provide it for third parties’ separate marketing purposes. External processing services and overseas transfers needed to operate OQi are described in Section 5.
• We do not use birth information or analysis results for personalized advertising. Channel-level visit and analysis completion statistics are used to measure the effectiveness of service promotion.
• The service is intended for those aged 14 and older, and we do not collect information from children under 14.

4. Retention Period

The date of birth, time of birth and gender you enter are stored with the analysis results in the Supabase database. Basic analysis and daily reading history linked to your account while signed in also follows the retention and deletion rules below.

• Default retention — retained until you request deletion.
• Account withdrawal — When you delete your account from My Page, personal data such as birth date, gender and saved saju profiles is erased, and daily reading history is unlinked from your account. Usage records with account identifiers removed (activity timing and frequency, reading dates, day pillars, languages and result references) may be retained to improve the service.
• User-initiated deletion request — processed within 3 business days.
• Anonymous aggregate statistics — aggregate data for service quality improvement (such as day-stem distribution) is stored separately in a form that cannot identify individuals.
• Acquisition source is retained for the browser tab session. Usage events and source records stored on the server follow the default retention and deletion-request rules above.

5. External Service Processing · Overseas Transfers

OQi uses the following external services for authentication, analysis, storage and email delivery, sharing the information needed for those tasks. This is distinct from providing information for third parties’ separate marketing or resale purposes.

• Vercel (USA) — hosting and anonymous visitor analytics
• Anthropic (USA) — natural-language analysis and translation API. We transmit Saju analysis information needed to generate readings and, when changing languages, the reading text requested for translation.
• Supabase (Korea, Seoul region) — storing analysis results and handling account authentication / login
• Google (USA) — social login authentication (only when the user chooses Google login)
• Brevo (EU-based data hosting; primary hosting: France and Germany) — delivery of sign-up confirmation and password-recovery emails. Brevo processes recipient email addresses, message content including authentication links, and sending and delivery status. Open and click tracking is currently active, and email links are rewritten as tracking URLs. Email and IP addresses may be processed in this process. These countries describe Brevo’s stated data hosting locations, not a guarantee covering the location of every processing activity.

6. User Rights

You may exercise the following rights regarding your information at any time.

• Right of access — view saved basic analysis and daily reading history relating to you
• Right to correction/deletion — correct inaccurate information or delete it entirely
• Right to suspend processing — stop saving further analyses
• Withdrawal of consent — withdraw items you previously consented to

7. Accuracy Disclaimer

OQi's Saju information is for reference only and its accuracy is not guaranteed. For medical, legal, or financial decisions, please be sure to consult a professional in the relevant field. The detailed disclaimer is in the Terms of Service.

8. Policy Changes

If there is a material change to this policy, we will give notice at least 30 days in advance on the OQi main page and at the top of this page. Minor changes are announced by updating the date on this page.
